You'll work your quads and your core with these two knowledgeable and fantastic instructors and will walk away feeling loose, long and strong!  This special class will begin with 45 minutes of core and quad strengthening and stretching as Charlotte guides you through a variety of yoga poses.  Darina will then lead you through the second half of class with a Yamuna Ball rolling session for the quadriceps.  The quadriceps are the muscle group that becomes most attached to the bone, muscle and fascia. The goal of body rolling is to stretch and free the individual quadriceps muscles from each other and from the femur to achieve a sense of greater length and freedom in the entire leg.



Charlotte Adamo

Always searching for a new way to stay active Charlotte started practicing yoga in 2010; trying everything from Bikram, Ashtanga, Iyengar and finally falling in love with Vinyasa. Charlotte started out teaching vinyasa yoga in 2013 in Northern Virginia, completing her 200-hour yoga training at Tranquil Space. She has passionately spent the last 6 years, teaching Yoga for Cancer classes to people who have been through cancer. Charlotte is certified in Yoga for Cancer trainings through Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital and Yoga4Cancer. Charlotte believes that yoga should be accessible for everyone and loves offering modifications for poses and using lots of props! Charlotte enjoys keeping yoga fun and bringing a sense of lightheartedness to her classes. To be able to offer more of her love for yoga she started Yoga by Charlotte in 2020 to provide private and group yoga both in-person and virtually.

Darina Brown

Darina's yoga journey began in 2005 after years as a fitness instructor, which brought her from teaching on a cruise ship, to instructing celebrities in the Maldive Islands, to teaching private clients throughout Europe.  In addition to being certified in BASI Pilates, Darina completed extensive yoga teacher training with Bryan Kest, the founder of Power Yoga, and Paul Grilley, the founder of Yin Yoga. Her pursuit of meditation techniques brought her to Eckhart Tolle and Tara Brach, and the last few years Darina has studied with Yamuna and has become a Yamuna Body Practitioner, which she is also quite passionate about. 

Darina says: "For me, the yoga mat is a safe space, a sanctuary to accept where I am each day. It's a place to be present without judgement, where I can move and breathe mindfully. With that spirit, I've developed classes that cultivate physical and mental strength, where we can breathe deeply and be honest and open to all the possibilities that life presents

The real yoga then begins the moment we step off the mat and face the inevitable challenges of life. And this is where yoga becomes a most powerful tool, helping us to move gracefully and with ease through anything that life brings our way."
